So, yesterday, for an hour or so, I built team after team, with my best record being 71-11. Decided to try again this morning and on my third try...hit 82-0. That team

I knew I had a shot when my first two players were Magic and Wilt.
Well, I had never heard of 82-0 before today and now I’m absolutely hooked even though I haven’t watched a full NBA game in probably 20 years. Someone make 162-0 stat!
I discovered this late and it would've helped with some of my teams. I don't think it's cheating, in the "spirit" of the game, because when you picked that guy you knew he could play multiple positions. You shouldn't be required to lock him into one upon his drafting/signing. It's not like you're moving Shaq into the PG slot.
It's also possible to re-roll the team and/or the decade if you don't like what you got randomly. I do think this is "cheating" but if your goal is to get to 82-0 before you spend another 20 hours cursing your luck, it's a good safety valve.
Ok I spent way too much time on this today. The key is getting players who fill up all three categories of points, rebounds and assists. Rebounds may be the most valuable. Elvin Hayes with 28/17. Wilt especially with 45/25. Kareem when he was getting 15 rebounds a game. LeBron. Barkley. Oscar. Magic. Bird. Jordan. Luka. Durant. Russell Westbrook when he was averaging a triple double. I’ve got 82-0 several times today. Of course, I spent an embarrassingly large amount of time doing it.
80-2 is my best so far, with Luka, 80s Larry Bird, 2010s Dwight Howard, Joker and, er, Malcolm Brogdon. Feel like I know where those two losses came from.
I’m addicted to 82-0, but I hate it. My best teams have had 68-72 wins with multiple HOFers. My best result so far (77-5) had a backcourt of Devin Booker and Victor Oladipo, with Paul George as the SF. Yeah, 2000’s LeBron and 1960’s Wilt would be pretty amazing, but I don’t think it’s the best team I put together. And I don’t think it’s set up to appreciate the greatness of players like Walt Bellamy, John Havlicek and Nate Thurmond.

I went 82-0 on my 4th play ever (Luka, AI, Kobe, Kareem, McAdoo). No position switches or re-dos, either. This is what life is like as a Yankees fan.
