There is so much to say about the Astros trading for Zack Greinke on Wednesday, but let’s save the analysis and some of the awesome Greinke stories and such for later.
I'd like to see the analysis. I'm a big Astros fan and love the deal. 3 of the 4 minor leaguers the Astros gave up are or have been prospects in the top 100 list on MLB.com. But they haven't been high on the list. The Astros only have 2 players on the top 100 list now though, and I'm a little tiny bit concerned about that.
Carlos Beltran seems to fit the bill somewhat of a guy who hopped around a bit and was generally good for the teams he played for. Obviously he was a big deal for the Royals and Mets, and he was excellent as a deadline acquisition for the Astros in 2004 and the Giants in 2011 (even if some fans of the latter try to deny he was good for them). He was still an effective player for the Cardinals in 2012 and 2013. That's 5 teams that Beltran helped quite a bit.
Not quite comparable in that he only played for 4 teams, but I kind of feel Nolan Ryan has some similarities to Greinke. He had extended runs all 4 teams he played for. He wasn't particularly good for the Mets, but he did get his ring there, and his number is retired by his other three teams, which I have to think is the most of any player except for Jackie Robinson obviously.
Rusty Staub? 5 teams, All Star with three of them?
Why was Blockbuster Video "loathsome"?
That's what I want to know. Maybe Huizenga was, but I loved Blockbuster. Kind of miss the days of looking for videos to rent.

Good calls.
