Woo hoo! Top of the list! Head of the heap!
Many of you probably know by now that the PosCast, hosted by Michael Schur and me, is the number one sports podcast in America. You may ask: By what metric? What measure? Most listeners? Most awards? Was it voted number one by some group?
To which I say: Hey, wait, did the healing monk help or not?
Sorry, what were we talking about? Oh, yeah, right, you were asking by what metric JoeBlogs is the No. 1 sports podcast in America. And I was telling you that it … oh, wait, look, is that a cute dog and ducklings, what?
So, now that that is settled … I do have a bit of news. It looks like JoeBlogs is now, for at least one moment here, the No. 1 sports newsletter on Substack. And I have an actual receipt for this one:
I should say first that I really love all the other newsletters here — seriously, they’re all amazing, Ethan, John, Craig and the great Kareem, and you should check them all out — and I fully expect them each to pass us by, one by one, sooner rather than later.
But for now, hey, check out my skyhook!
No, seriously, I want to use this fun bit of news as an opportunity to say thank you. A lot of really good things have happened to me over the last few weeks (will fill you in on some amazing details soon), and it has given me an opportunity to look back at the amazing journey we’ve been on. Eighteen or so months ago, I took a chance on an entirely new direction — away from the traditional sportswriting model and built around a direct connection to you readers — based on the hope that enough people would want to come along for the ride.
You’ve come along. Thank you. Don’t worry, I’m not slowing down. (I’m actually speeding up — I’m down 11 pounds!) I’ve got so many fun plans and ideas for the days ahead. We’ll get to those soon enough. For now, though, I’m going to take a moment to reflect and maybe even have a little celebratory cheat meal. Please, I encourage you to do the same. You are the best.

You write a sports newsletter? Since when? Next you're going to tell me you write books, too.
The moment I see a new Joe Blog post, I stop what I'm doing to read it.
