There’s a number I watch even though it doesn’t change often: The number of home runs hit per game. You can find it here at Baseball Reference.

Here were the Top 5 homer numbers in baseball history BEFORE this season:

  1. 2017, 1.26 homers per game

  2. 2000, 1.17 homers per game

  3. 2016, 1.16 homers per game

  4. 2018, 1.15 homers per game

  5. 1999, 1.14 homers per game
