The Baseball 100 Christmas Rush

So, you may have heard or read something about supply chain issues … seems like some of that has been in the news lately. It was inevitable, I suppose, that eventually those issues would hit The Baseball 100.

I have to say that my publisher friends at Avid Reader Press have done INCREDIBLE work trying to keep the Baseball 100 in stock. The book’s popularity (thank you!) has been so overwhelming that they have literally been working every single day on getting new printings and pushing distribution and rushing orders and all sorts of things that I don’t even know about. I’m so grateful to them.

But, alas, as Christmas approaches, we’ve hit a speed bump.

If you go to the Baseball 100 Amazon page, you will see some haunting red letters that say “May arrive after Christmas.” The truth is that they’ve run out of stock. There is a lot of hope that this will be a very temporary thing as a new printing is supposed to arrive any day now, and there will be a rush to get many books to Amazon.

In the meantime, there are some other options. Of course, there’s the ebook available on Kindle, Nook, and Apple Books. There is also the audiobook, all 30-plus hours of it, available at Audible and everywhere else they audiobooks.

But I know you probably want the hardcover because it is beautiful. So here’s the best bet: They still have a limited supply of signed copies over at Rainy Day Books — the catch there is you have to order the books by Friday, December 10 to guarantee delivery by Christmas. That’s TOMORROW as I write this.

You can check with your local bookstore, they might have it. Some independents do.

There are, I’m happy to say, Baseball 100s available online at Barnes & Noble and in some B&N stores. This might be your safest bet for the time being.

And I do know that Avid Reader is working really hard to get a bunch of books to Amazon before Christmas … and I’m still optimistic that if you are an Amazon shopper you will be able to pick up the book in time for your holiday needs.

These are, of course, the best problems to have — you have made The Baseball 100 something of a publishing phenomenon, and I cannot begin to say how much I love hearing from all of you about it.
