Thanks - still looking forward to the day you write the definitive Fed-Rafa-Novak book. Although if I have to wait until they stop winning Slams, who knows when that will be???

I don't watch tennis, though I did years ago, nor do I read other writers' articles on tennis, but after hearing about this match I deeply looked forward to Joe's column on it. And I was not disappointed. It is much the same with baseball. I read all that Joe writes about it but rarely watch an entire game on TV. I think it is because Joe makes me recall the way I felt about these games and matches when I was younger. The marvel at the skill and determination, the intensity of the rivalries. I grew up outside of Los Angeles and feasted on the sports journalism of Jim Murray in the LA Times. Joe writes nothing like him, but is every bit his equal, and moves me in a way Murray never did. Makes me wish I was in the bleachers of Dodger Stadium with my dad on a warm summer day. For which I am grateful.
