The best logo in The NFL. I went to The Raiders practice facility and in the team store they were selling Al Davis white satin jackets. This was well before Fanatics came on the scene. I’m kicking myself for not buying one. Who owns one of these?
My cousin married Warren Powers brother. Warren coached Missouri and was a strong safety for The Raiders in the 60s. Warrens brother DJ flew Phantoms and he used to buzz The Raiders training camp, sending the players to the turf. The Wild West!
These are the first two Raiders on Joe's list, but they probably won't be the last. There were six Raiders on the Athletic list, which omitted Long but did include Hendricks, Jim Otto, Willie Brown, Art Shell, Charles Woodson, and Gene Upshaw. I would be surprised if Joe didn't pick Shell, Upshaw, Woodson, along with Tim Brown.

I loved those badass Raiders teams. The acted out all the rage I was feeling as a kid, even while they whupped my Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Howie Long is now a perfectly-coiffed studio guy. The change in him actually perfectly mirrors the change in the Raiders from the 1970s to today.
I imagine Hendricks is off somewhere boating with Molly, fishing with dynamite.
Well done, Joe. Quoting NFL films is a perfect setup.
