I just got an email saying my subscription has ended, after getting an email saying my subscription was being carried over and "If you want to continue to be a subscriber, thank you and thank you again, you don’t have to do a thing." . What is going on?

I dug in a little farther. I found that if I pay, I get the blog for $30/year forever. I checked using another email address, one that has never been a subscriber, and found that I can get the same offer. No benefits for me, no lower than normal rate as detailed in the original note referred to above, even though I've been a subscriber since Joe started at Substack, having been a follower since well before that, passing through every iteration since Joe was running his own blog with no paywalls.

I'm feeling a little cheated. What can be done to resolve this?

Isn't that cheaper than the lowest rate before?

Will need to print this out and insert it into my The Baseball 100 book. Thanks, Joe!

As usual, Joe, I’m too overwhelmed by your writing to think of a worthy rejoinder. So I’ll just say, once again, thank you. Your writing reaches someplace very deep inside me, and brings up emotions I didn’t even know I possessed.

Great stuff, but...he kept his bats in violin cases? Either you need to add a paragraph on his tiny bats or see if they were actually cello cases. 😄

haha had same thought. I think guitar cases would be the sweet spot, size-wise.

Perfect size! I may use one of my extra guitar cases for my bats.

I googled how long violins are because of doubts about this point.
