Your Mom's comment is so simple yet so insightful. I still recall my reaction to your first column in the KC Star. I couldn't believe that you had just moved to Kansas City had written a column that was so insightful and thoughtful. It was as if you had been a member of the town for at least 20 years. That is what you do in your stories and that continues to amaze me to this day.

Thinking about pre-ordering the Kindle version if there'll be one. Shipping such a monster to Europe will not be cheap. On the other hand, I am worried that the reading on the Kindle will be disservice to this great book.
