the idea of breaking-up a baseball game into "sets" sounded absolutely-awful when I first read it. 5-10 minutes later, and I hate it even more ... please, please, Rob Manfred, don't do it

The big unintended consequence of this schedule is that if the weather is especially bad in northern cities in April, leading to the postponement of a bunch of interleague games, make up games could be very difficult to schedule.

As for mid-season tournaments -- I really don't see any allure to them. It's one thing if you're a fan of Premiere League soccer, where there are no playoffs, and so maybe your team can compete for a title in another league. But when a season has a post-season, leading to a champion, that's where the focus should be. I would certainly think that's what the players would focus on.
