Fantastic history lesson here. The Finley era stuff is wild, but what realy gets me is how consistently teams forget that bringing in fences helps opposing hitters just as much. I watched the 90s Royals give up those 100+ home run seasons at home and it was brutal. The data-driven approach this time around sounds smarter, but baseball has a way of humbling evn the best laid plans.
