Sixty-five days until pitchers and catchers … and here’s your daily splash of joy.

I wouldn’t normally post on a Saturday. But it’s so utterly dreary outside here, and I imagine it might be pretty dreary where you are, and baseball feels a million miles away. But baseball will return. Soon. And here’s another batch of why you love baseball.

Brilliant Reader Todd: Twenty-two years ago, eight of us from around the country, at a management meeting, decided we should get together outside of work. Twenty-two years later, we are still crossing ballparks off the list and have a friendship that turned into a brotherhood.

Brilliant Reader Michael: When I was eight, I first heard Vin Scully's voice coming out of the radio. Since then, I've followed the Dodgers and the voices, and still cherish being able to follow them and hear them.

Brilliant Reader Sam: “The dirt-smudged knee on the right pant leg of Tom Seaver’s Mets uniform.”

From Brilliant Reader Mark: Morganna. I still have the garter she flipped me from the stage when I went to interview her.

Joe: I, too, interviewed Morganna many years ago. She sent me Christmas cards for years. Seriously. I’ll have to find some of those and put them up here.

If you would like to send in the reason why you love baseball, we’d love to hear it. And in that spirit, we’re also now collecting photos and artwork too — old snapshots, ballpark scenes, favorite scorecards, kids’ drawings, ticket stubs, whatever captures the joy of the game for you. Some people are sending song lyrics. Some are sending poems. It’s utterly wonderful. Just send along your baseball joy to [email protected].

New Merch in the JoeBlogs Store!

Oh, hey, one quick note: By popular demand, we’ve added some holiday stuff to the merch store, including a Clubhouse water bottle, a PosCast Holiday Draft mug, and this awesome tote bag!

More to come — keep sending in those merch suggestions (we have even mocked up an “I hate pickleball” pickleball paddle waiting, but I’ve been reluctant to release it because, yes, I hate pickleball).
