I’m guessing No. 11 is Ron Santo. Reason? He made both of Joes first two attempts at the Baseball 100, but did not make the cut for his third and final version. And I’m guessing he wasn’t one of the 10 picked by his Brilliant Readers. Says it’s so Joe!
Hi all! The books are not gone yet! If you are one of the 100, you will get an email in the next couple of days asking for your address, the person your dedicating the book to and the inscription you would like.
I never got the signed bookplate that I subscribed for, so I worry about buying a subscription and receiving nothing. Love all your writing, Joe, but the bookplate thing didn't work out.
I read The Baseball 100. Thoroughly enjoyed! Amazed at your research and thoroughness. Like thousands of others, I had a few issues with rankings, etc. I’m a baby-boomer and had the privilege to see many of the stars from the 50s on. Loved learning more about the real “old-timers”. Have recommended to several friends and given a few copies away. I would like to send you a private email if you would email me your email contact.
Every Mother’s Day for as long as I can remember, I’ve been saying “to all the wonderful moms out there, happy birthday.” And I had no idea it wasn’t original. Now I’m sitting here wondering if I had seen that Kiner line some time before and remembered it subconsciously and have been plagiarizing it ever since, or if it’s just one of those things where every joke of all time has been said before and there’s no such thing as an original thought. I’m feeling a bit. Thanks to Joe for ruining my day.*
*not really. My Twitter followers will be thankful I’ll be skipping that tweet next May.
Here’s hoping I’m one of the lucky 🍀 1’s! ⚾️
I donated a subscription, so now more people will know the joys of coffee and Posnanski!
Got one for my brother as well to share the love. Excited for them to get to enjoy it as much as I have!
I say it's Bobby Bonds.
It’s Duane Kuiper isn’t it

Subscribed earlier today. Hoping to get a book but great content here either way.

Hi Joe,
I signed up before you left this comment but have not received an email about book and inscription. Are they still in the works?

I'm guessing Duane Kuiper... Do you know that guy hit more home runs in his MLB career than almost anyone who ever picked up a bat?
That was my guess too
Just bought a gift for a friend. How do we hear about whether we will receive a copy of the book?
You can never go wrong writing about Buck O'neil.
The 10 who missed is going to be both incredibly amazing and yet disappointing because it won't have everyone I want on it ;)

Anxious to learn about the next 10 :)
Thank you!

I subscribed yesterday. :-|
Wow, all books gone in under an hour.
Stupid me, working instead of reading as soon as a post drops.
