Since you asked, no, I am not entertained. Long series between the best teams in baseball would be great, but we have had that taken away from us by short series that amount to a coin toss. The bright side is that I will have a lot of time on my hands now that I have watched baseball for the last time in 2022.

The games themselves are certainly entertaining. But it’s pretty clear MLB doesn’t care about devaluing their regular season. As such; I won’t care as much about it. 4 playoff teams from each league were plenty; 6 renders a lot of games that the best teams in each league are playing pretty much useless. I realize I’m in the minority, but that should not be the goal.

As an aside, the Padres beating the Dodgers in a beat of 5 is absolutely not “unthinkable”. Things like this happen all the time; the Pirates outplayed the Dodgers in their H2H games this year. That’s a good argument for why there should be fewer playoff teams, not more, if the goal of the playoffs is to give the best teams the best chance. If the goal is to maximize the money made and entertainment in October itself, then mission accomplished
