
Joe Posnanski is a senior writer at Sports Illustrated. Prior to joining SI in 2009, Joe was a sports columnist at The Kansas City Star. In his 13 years at The Star he was twice named the best sports columnist in America by The Associated Press Sports Editors. He was nominated for fifteen awards by the APSE, and won first place national awards in feature and project writing.
In addition to writing three books, Joe has written essays for several books, including ESPN’s best-selling College Football Encyclopedia, and his work has been anthologized in “The Best American Sportswriting.”
He was a sports columnist at The Cincinnati Post from 1994-1996, and before that he wrote columns for The Augusta Chronicle. He began his career at The Charlotte Observer. He grew up in Cleveland, and now lives in Kansas City with his family.
